Introducing Custom Label Templates & More Label Sizes

Launching in January of 2019 is our latest update to printing labels. In the past, labels were restricted to a single size with product information that you could not change whether you wanted to or not.

Ricochet 3.0 now supports 3 label sizes: traditional 2.25″ X 1.25″, mini 1″ x 1.5″, and slim jewelry labels.

You can also change the information you would like to be printed on the larger 2.25″ by 1.25″ labels. The 1×1.5 labels will have one editable field, and the jewelry labels will be fixed due to their size.

Each label has enough room to contain 5 different components beyond the standard barcode and SKU. There are 9 options to choose from:

  1. Product Name
  2. Short Description
  3. Attributes
  4. Auto Discounts
  5. Consignor ID
  6. Custom Name/Number
  7. Category
  8. In-Stock Date
  9. Store Name

Additionally, you can select which labels you would like to have active in your system, and which ones you would like to default to when printing labels.

Using the new layout:

There is a new section in settings called “Labels.” This is where you can update the settings. This information is universally applied, so it is the best practice to print all items you want specific information for at once, then change the information for another group of items.

If you want to change the label size for any label, find the item in your inventory and click print, as normal. In the print preview box on your web browser, you can select a different size depending on what labels you would like to print. Keep in mind, you will have to change out the physical labels prior to hitting print. Otherwise, it will not print correctly.

To guarantee the best performance with your label printer, always use Dymo compatible labels. The most affordable labels that we have had great experiences with are listed below.

Standard 2.25 x 1.25

Mini 1 x 1.5

Jewelry/butterfly mini labels

As always, feel free to contact our support team for any questions or problems you may experience.

Happy New Year!

*Update*
We had a previous concern with Chrome not printing 1×1 labels. Due to this, we have updated all content to now represent 1×1.5 labels instead. They are also semi-customizable with one unique field. If you had purchased 1×1 labels upon seeing this post in its original state, please contact us.
The label size code in the print preview of Chrome is 30347.
